There is a disturbing religious movement afoot in this country. Perpetrated by prostitutes in the pay of corporations and rich aristocracies and designed to perpetuate the Radical Rapepublican Revolution of Ronnie Rodeo. They have been around for a while. And their insidious message has been widely heard and too often believed. But now may be the time to re-examine these charlatans and their pseudo-Christian theology. Because they have made what I hope will be seen ultimately as a strategic mistake in adopting a seriously unwell conman and anointing him as their prophet King. Now I don't normally like to talk about religion, and I am not going to say whether or not I consider myself a Christian. But I have read both the old and new Testaments of the Bible. And studied them to some modest degree. As I read the Gospels I find there a man or son of God named Jesus of Nazareth operating as a rabbi in the Galilee and later Jerusalem. And he seems to have two major messages. One has to do with the coming kingdom of God. And the other has to do with how one should live one's life here on earth before that coming kingdom. I'm not going to talk about the eschatological side of Jesus message today, because that has to do with the hereafter. But it seems pretty clear to me that with regard to life here and now, Jesus had a few important things to say. He said that God loves humans and that if humans love God they must love each other. He said that we must take care of each other. Look after each others needs. And especially take care of those who have trouble taking care of themselves. Jesus said that we must love all other humans, even those who do not belong to our own tribe. Well these so-called Christian evangelicals are preaching a very different message. (And if you have played my videos where I discussed the difference between inclusionism and exclusionism, you know exactly what I'm driving at here.) They are exclusionists. They would prefer to live in a world where everyone else believes exactly as they do. As a matter of fact most of them are also racists. They would prefer to live in a world where everyone looks and talks like they do. Now if you've seen any of my videos you know that I am in inclusionist. I think exclusionism and racism and hatred (contempt) are evils which are bad for humans and human society. But no matter what I believe, the Jesus that I read about in the Gospels is clearly opposed to exclusionism and racism. ABSOLUTELY He says that God loves all humans and that our only job is to love God and love each other. Well that's where it is really obvious these charlatan pseudo-Christians have got it wrong. Since they claim to be Christian, they should be following Jesus. And yet they preach a message which is antithetical, heretical and theologically incorrect. They say that if you are wealthy and successful it is a sign of God's love. If you are not wealthy and successful you need to send them money and do what they say in order to get right with God. They also say, though not always overtly, that white American men are a special tribe blessed by God. And that others are in various ways inferior. Now this message and others that I won't go into are designed to support their masters, the wealthy corporations and aristocracies who have perpetuated Ronnie Rodeo's Reactionary Rapepublican Revolution. And the message has been increasingly successful especially over the last 40 years. The fact that it is diametrically opposed to the message of Jesus has somehow eluded its adherents. Well now they may have gone a step too far. Because they have anointed an obvious mentally ill conman as their prophet King. They have joined forces with Der Don. Now of course they all would've preferred that Jeb Bush become president. But when that didn't happen they made what I hope was a strategic mistake by aligning themselves with this caricature of a human being who is so vividly and undeniably everything that Jesus was not. He has some of the worst characteristics of King David and King Solomon with none of their wisdom virtue and love of God. And he is completely antithetical to Jesus. As Der Don's lies are exposed and the con unravels --- some, though not all, of his adherents will see him for what he is. And one hopes that those who are true Christians will take that time of revelation and reassessment as an opportunity to rediscover the Jesus of the Gospels and reject the pseudo-Christianity perpetrated by prostitutes in the pay of corporations and rich aristocracies and designed to perpetuate the Radical Rapepublican Revolution of Ronnie Rodeo. Counterrevolution is coming. And I think Jesus would probably be with us.
